This is one of several critters that inhabit Shadowrealm. Sand Creatures are aggressive animals that will eat almost anything that crosses their path. Despite their size and demeanor they are not the top of the food chain. They are occasionally hunted by Night Desert Runners, a smaller but far more intelligent animal that lives and hunts in groups. The Runners consider the Sand Creature’s special abdominal organ to be a delicacy. They wait for the acid to dry out and then eat the remaining flesh. On rare occasions they will collect the acid (before it dries up) to use in rituals.
