Experiment Log #?

My run-in was with a particularly nasty crowd this time around. My nose and jaw had been broken, and possibly my left arm as well. I know I lost consciousness and not surprisingly, they helped themselves to what was left of my coin. I don't carry anything else of value on these outings for that particular reason. I am not certain how long I laid there before I awoke. It was a very lengthy and painful walk home.

I slept for a full day after my return. I have a headache, but my nose, jaw and arm seem to be completely healed. If not for the slight stiffness in my jaw, I would have thought I had dreamed the whole ugly scene. So far, this is the quickest that I have recovered from one of these experiments.

In order to time my healing progress more precisely, I have cut a deep gouge into my right forearm. If my suspicions prove correct, all traces of this injury will be gone in a matter of hours.

One thing has me puzzled, however. The very tips of my fingers on my left hand are blackened. I don't recall any fire being involved in this particular brawl. These men seemed insistent on beating me to a pulp using only their bare hands. Hmmmm…there is no pain or loss of sensation, nor do the blackened areas peel or wash off…very interesting indeed. Perhaps it is some sort of side-effect caused by the severity of my injuries? I shall have to keep a close eye on this new development.
